As Valentine’s Day comes closer the stress, anxiety, and pressure of having a significant other comes as well. Although it is always nice to have a romantic partner to spend the holiday with, it may be even more fun to spend the holiday with your partner in crime or your best friend. So we set out to test some of the most popular Valentine’s Day traditions. When we set out to find the perfect movie to watch, we chose to watch a classic, The Proposal. It is often overlooked in the lineup of Valentine’s Day movies, but it is one of Carly’s favorite movies. Often times, people will go out on a fancy date before watching the movie, but we decided to get a $5 fill up from KFC instead. It was my first time trying one and I can say that it did not disappoint. Honestly, I would rather have a $5 fill up from KFC than a fancy, overpriced dinner. We couldn’t start the movie without snacks, so we decided to bake some Valentine’s Day themed cookies and paired them with heart shaped Reese’s cups for the perfect movie snack. We needed to get comfortable before we could start the movie, so putting on sweatpants/pajamas was a must. As we were watching the movie, an injury occurred. Carly’s cat, Sunshine, got into a fight with her dog, Gizmo. We had to take a break from the movie to attend to the injured pup, but I am happy to announce that he has made a full recovery. The one good thing that came out of the impromptu fight was that Gizmo laid with us for the rest of the movie. It was definitely a memorable movie night. Overall, I would give The Proposal a 5.5/10 while Carly gives it an 8/10. It was not a terrible movie, but I just did not like it. The one thing that the movie had going for it was Sandra Bullock. She is an amazing actress who can turn a mediocre script into a great movie. The movie night earns a 10/10 from both of us. It had everything that a good movie night needs: good food, comfy clothes, a highly rated movie, a fight, and your best friend.
